The patina occurs as a result of aging, with the help of sweat and sunlight. I don't know if you can permanently keep a white from going yellowish, but like previously mentioned, wipe it down after playing, keep it out of prolonged periods of time in the sunlight and wax it monthly (or thereabouts) with Zymol, the sky blue car polish you can get at Wal-mart for about $12. Takes less than 10 minutes to do.
