The important thing here about yellowing is, it all depends on which bass did you buy???
The reason most of those old basses yellowed was because of the type of finish. Lacquer and polyester really absorbed smoke and obviouly changed from the sun.
From the late 80's to the latest new stuff, finishes that were urethane and such practically will not yellow.
The only "new" basses that are going to yellow on ya, are the Reissue '57 or '62 or '75 basses because those finishes are just like the old stuff.
