White Pickup Covers? Anyone?

I'm thinking about putting one white pu cover on my Geddy's bridge pu... I think it'll give it a good contrast and something of a yin-yang quality.

Any advice on where to find one? Allparts?

Thanks basswave - I added the mods under the original post. The quick story is that it's a Squier Affinity Jazz V with some enhancements. Gets some very nice 60's jazz bass tones.

I talked to Norstrand about white covers and they said they would have to order 500 of them and only about 10 folks have asked for them... So they can be hard to obtain.

Lol, thanks. It's a shame about the lack of 5-string covers on the market. From what I've seen, it would be a virtual monopoly for the 1st manufacturer to bring 5-string Fender-sized casings to the table. But then maybe there just isn't much demand for them, as Carey Nordstrand has stated in his experience.

Oh man, I totally disagree! I think the white cover looks perfect on that bass. I would not change it.

Wish I had a better pic...my Squier II w/ active EMG's. I retrofitted these creme covers I had lying around on top of the ugly black pole-less EMG's. I get mixed reviews about this one

I don't own any basses with white pickup housings but I think they look great. They're visually funky against a stained/painted/lacquered/pickguarded body whereas the black tends to blend in more. This thread is giving me GAS.

only arrived yesterday, I was actually looking for this with a black pickup cover and balck pickguard but couldn't pass up a good deal. The white is really growing on me.

Looks good against my Mailloux custom designed to be a 6 string version of the same bass.

I searched high & low on the internet for 5-string white or vintage cream jazz pickup covers. To my knowledge, they simply don't exist. So I made my own set. I used several coatings of Krylon Fusion (Buttercream color) on the casings after removing the pickups. Sometimes glue-like adhesives are used inside the casings to hold the casings onto the pickups and so they can be stubborn to remove from their casings, some are easy.

Mods:

Fully copper shielded
Vintage Cloth insulated wire
Vintage Cream Pickup covers (Krylon Fusion)
Black MIM jazz pickguard
Fender jazz bass knobs
Fender jazz 6-position Varitone control plate
Hipshot A-style Bridge
Rolled fretboard edges
8-32 Steel threaded inserts in neck
1 1/2" machine screw neck screws
Dunlop strap locks

Wow, talk about a late reply - my apologies. FWIW, no. I have had no issues with the durability of the Krylon Fusion. I put on 4-5 coats IIRC. I suppose a high acidity level in one's hands could cause issues. Perhaps a thin layer of spray-on poly would fix that as well if it ever became a problem (steel-wooled down to a dull satin, rather than high gloss sheen).

I ordered a set from Guitar Parts Worldwide on 2/12 and they never arrived (they were coming to Ohio from somewhere in Great Britain). They said they resent them and filed a complaint with royal mail service.. still waiting

Thanks for the info. I want a white or cream MM pickup cover but its been hard to track down at a reasonable price (found some for $70 each yikes! No, it don't come with pickups). May have to go the Krylon route.
