White Pickup Covers? Anyone?

Oh man, IMO it looks much better with the white cover.

Bear, that's always been one of my favorite-looking basses. I've always lusted over them. However, IMHO, I would prefer the traditional look of the chrome cover by the knobs rather than the one-piece pearloid. I think the chrome would compliment the transparent black AND the white pearloid. But that's just nit-picking because I think it's also beautiful as is. Congrats!

EDIT: If any of you photoshoppers could show this baby with a chrome control plate I'd love to see it. Thanks!

Jeff, I, also, prefer the look of a metal plate on a Jazz Bass.

The problem is that the Ventures model has gold hardware. So when I bought it new I ordered a gold control plate for it. My original intention was to fit a new white or black pearl scratchplate to it. I figured either would look good with that blackburst finish. But while I was trying to decide which to get, I grew to like the way it was. I still have the gold control plate and every now and again I think about changing it but I never do.

Besides that, the factory scratchplate is slightly off center on the lower cutaway. Which means that unless I use the original as a template to get a replacement made I'd have to drill new holes and that would make any modification permanent.

Yeah, I kind of forgot about the gold hardware. I guess the chrome would clash. But she sure is a beauty either way...
