White wenge top?

I've seen a wenge body top, but never a white wenge one. I'm curious as to how it would look like.

Yeah, I had already found this thread, although I had to search through google to find it for the reason you mentioned
Anyway, I'd be even more interested in a white wenge top instead of fingerboard!

Wenge has light colored sapwood, which is probably what Pete used in there. Pieces wide enough for a top may be very difficult to come by, especially since most sapwood is usually discarded or used as firewood.

I didn't care for the color of the white wenge so much but I'd love to see a sunburst over it.

As it turns out, I was at Pete's shop earlier this very day. We were discussing light-colored fingerboard woods and white wenge came up. He showed me a piece that he had. For better or worse, it looked a lot like oak to me.

I am not asserting that it would sound like oak (whatever oak sounds like), or that it is comparable in terms of hardness. But the color of the wood, the grain pattern, and particularly the way it looked on the crosscut (the density) looked very oak-ish to me.

Beautiful bass but it just looks like wenge that is bleached or something.
