Double Bass Who actually has an "UNPLAYABLE" Bass?

I used to own an Ibanez Musician neck-thru bass that had a verrry crooked neck and had 3 techs try to fix it. They reckoned that the truss rod was broken and the only way to fix it would be to pry the fretboard off and replace the rod.

I ended up selling it but if the neck would have been (cheaply) fixable, I'd probably still have it.

We don't have many neck-thru basses discussed here. Does Pöllmann make one?

The first double bass that I learned on could qualify.
It was loaned to me by the orchestra. It's neck was broken in 3 places, near the heel, midway & below the nut. Was repaired by gluing the 4 separate pieces together & nailing them in but you could still feel the neck wiggle a little when you played it.
The body was termite infested, I had to use a can of Ridsect to clear the termites out. Also had to carry a tube of wood filler to fill in any holes on the body when one of the layers of plywood caved in.
One of my first tutors who was teaching me was asking me to "play louder" for about half an hour, then gave up & took the double bass from me to show me how it was done. After playing it, he told me, its ok as the problem was the bass.
The bass is still with the orchestra, & even though its being held together with glue, nails & a prayer, I still kind of miss it as it was my first double bass.
