Way to go Steve!! I've been watching this one get built at the Alembic Club. Glad to see it's going to a TBer/Alembic Clubber.

What's the deal with Curbow's headstocks? Trying to conserve wood I guess. Great for the environment, but they would look better bigger (I like the shape of them quit a bit).

MontyP is buying that Curbow/Tobias from me. I had Greg smooth out the lines of this headstock a little when he built the neck for me.

I just got a few basses this week:

- 100th Anniversary Stingray 4 (ebay)

- Pedulla Thunderbolt 4 (used, at my local GC's July 4th sale)

- Ovation Applause acoustic (I wanted an extra acoustic scattered around the house)

I just bought this G&L L-1000 so HeavyDuty and I will have to start one of those stupid clubs :rolleyes: :D

I'm pretty psyched. It's a 1981 bass, the owner bought it new to have a bass around the house, and hardly ever played it so the frets are in perfect shape.

It's rolling in on a delivery truck tomorrow to a nearby "Boot Barn" store, 'cause the guy's wife works there and can throw stuff on trucks at will... whatever, I'll have it tomorrow morning!!!

Yeah... HD, let me know how you like yours when it arrives. I'll post something once I get some time with mine.

Yes, I guess the "clue" was a bit too obvious. To answer conical johnson's question... you can't see facings for the gloss black finish. You can bet there's 12 pounds of mahogany under there.

So Bassmonkeee was correct - it's the black Mach II fretless from Bunnybass. I was drooling over it too and was told it had sold, but somehow the original buyer fell through. Jon & Harry did a great job to make the deal happen. They're great folks to deal with.

I wish it had fancy facings and no "cheater" lines, but I would still be waiting this time next year for a custom order. Anyhow, thanks for your comments... I'll post a review and my own pics when the brown truck finally arrives.

BTW - congrats to everyone else getting new basses - there's a lot of beautiful wood in transit this week!
