Some of the Superbowl Halftime performances have been lackluster with performers who probably should not have been selected.

I heard today that Justin Beiber is lobbying for next year's Superbowl Halftime show.

Here is a list of all the Superbowl Halftime shows.

Who do you think would be good Superbowl Halftime performers?

Here are just a few suggestions in my personal opinion of acts who have a wide audience appeal, can perform well, and have never been there.

    Bon Jovi
    Garth Brooks
    Keith Urban
    Bryan Adams

I was trying to think of some newer performers as well.

    Who would you suggest?

  4. Up With People remain my halftime show alpha and omega.

Although Sunday I was wishing for the Stanford marching band.

Since it's a pay-to-play gig, how about a local band showcase every year?

Trying to calculate the average age of the suggested performers so far: Probably north of 60.:bag:

How about the Foo Fighters, if they still exist as a band? They have pretty broad appeal, at least on an age basis. Just need to come up with an established R&B or hip hop performer they can collaborate with.

Honestly, I have never much cared about the Superbowl Halftime Show. The only one I ever thought was pretty good was Prince. All my favorites are either old or dead.

    How about a tribute act?

I'm not sure it you posted this as a joke, but I actually think it would work better than most musical acts.

Who? My preference would be a couple of really good college marching bands - marching around in complex formations, playing marching music. The way half time shows are supposed to be. The way they used to be....now, it's time for a nap, so get off my lawn!
