Who do you usually recommend?

If someone is looking for a nice , new bass at the $2k-$3k price point, who are your go to top 5 recommendations?

I think these companies offer very good quality and value for the money while bringing their own thing to the table.

If someone has the same budget or a little lower or wants to go used, I might also recommend.
Sterling Ray 34/35
MTD Kingston

IMHO it is pointless to just recommend a bass based on a persons budget and my own personal preferences as it depends on what they are looking for. Is there a specific tone they are after, or weight considerations? 4,5 or 6 string? Active, passive, string spacing, nut/neck width materials, style, etc... Do they want have to have a certain head stock decal? What have they had in the past that didn't work for them?

Budget is important, but just one of many factors.
