Sure. Not anymore 'til June 25th 2011 though, summer's over. But It is an awfully nice thing to do.

On topic...I've played two outdoor gigs. One was in the dead of winter, and playing fingerstyle was difficult to say the least. The other was playing on a float in a parade. Definitely a lot of fun, although I got a sun burn.
It's such a blast to play outside. We used to practice at our drummers house. On really nice days, we'd take our gear outside & play. Friends would drop by during the jam. Fun times!
We were a metal band and played rather loudly. However, 99% of community enjoyed hearing us play. Only one family in the neighborhood complained about the noise level. The community basically made that family an outcast until they moved. HA!

Outdoor gigs with a light breeze in the face are one of my favorite places to be. No stank of stale beer, armpits, and smoke.
Yea I had a thread about it not too long ago. Long story short,VM body,VM pickguard, SD SB-2 pickups,all black hardware,wilkinson tuners,mighty mite neck,cts pots,switchcraft jack.
Usually down here..its hot as heck all the time,but i guess since fall is getting closer, it's starting to cool off. It's about 80 degrees out so in the sun,with a slight breeze.
I perform outside all the time. The acoustic situation is different there as you don't have sound bouncing off walls like inside a club or dance hall. You need good monitors outside to hear yourself and especially the band. Having a sound person is invaluable as perceptions of loudness and balance are quite different on stage compared to being out in the crowd. Bright sunlight can make it hard to see some amp controls, tuners, etc. When performing in cold weather, I have a pair of cottton gloves with the fingertips cut off to help keep the hands warmed. Etc. etc. In general, outside is great!
In Tifton GA? Maybe in December. Did my freshman year at Valdosta State College. The heat and humidity in south GA in the summer is unbelievable.

Hence my comment about when the weather is right..for some how God has been gracious and given us nice decent weather past couple of days. Even in december it's been too hot to be outside before...
Not so much but my regular gig these days is an outdoor jazz brunch Sundays 1-3, it's been a brutal summer several 100+ days.
Weather and sound is rarely ideal for outdoor performances, especially festivals, but sitting outside in the backyard and playing is fun.
Mostly I sit in the grass or on the porch swing and play my ukulele. But I will practice my bass in the garage with all the doors open.
I've really been wanting an AEB again to string up with tapewounds to play outside and around the house...but don't want to spend more than 100 bucks on one just because it'll only be used at home.
