I personally love the SD QP. One of my favorite pups in a P bass for sure. I like all Duncans, especially these and the Basslines I had in some of my Warwicks... great pups!!

i put a set in my aerodyne and with the p on full and the j rolled back a bit i set the tone to suit the gig and have never been dissapointed. great pups for heavy 60s rock.
Got these in my squier matt freeman pbass. I have them all the way down (almost 1mm above the pickguard) and they sound full in the mids through the DI on podfarm. Through my fender rumble 15, on the other hand, they are fairly scooped. I still love these pups!
Very cool! What does the cloth wiring do? I love little upgrades like this.

I have heard of some doing the cloth wiring thing. Just never knew why really.
I am going to be completely honest and say I don't think it does anything other than look cool...even though it is hidden. That is my take though...the orange drop does make the tone knob very usable. Much more so than my MIA jazz. I had my tech fill in the slots and the neck is smooth. Thinking of swapping out the tuners eventually.

I LOVE mods like this. What exactly does the orange drop do? Does it make the tone roll off more pleasing? Please explain. The cap on my Pbass is purple.

My tech suggested I use the orange. As you roll of the tone it darkens evenly. There is no sharp drop. The pots must make a difference as well. On the Jazz there is very little difference as you roll off the tone...not sure why.

Wow...isn't that wonderful. I Guess there is one everywhere. If it doesn't make any difference than don't ask. I am new to this and I love the tone knob on my p bass. Way to make me look stupid, though. You should be very proud.
I put a .1 oil and paper cap in my p so I guess I'm stupid too. Don't let the know it alls bring ya down. There are different views on this subject, and plenty of threads on it as well. Let's just get back to the 1/4 pounder love people!
