Who makes a P style "headless" bass?

Moses Graphite has a replacement steinberger neck. Not sure what the neck pocket needs to look like to fit.

Are the Corts made of real wood or are they plywood? I remember there was a really cool headless Cort like that being sold in the For Sale section that I almost bought, but the body was plywood.

According to reports, those painted 80's ones are plywood, or else that kind of light, low-grade mahogany that splits easily. You shouldn't pay more than $100 for one of those, I think.

The main thing about them, though, is that the tailpiece/tuner array is the genuine Steinberger-licensed deal. At a hundred bucks, you could just toss the crappy wood and have a nice little headless built around the tuner hardware.

Also, keep in mind that you won't find double-ballend strings in every store.

But double-ball strings are readily available online. Labella, Steinberger, GHS, Rotosound, etc. all make a good double-ball string.

How about taking a cheap P Bass with a Allen head neck adjusting screw and cut the head off and fit the head nut and bridge assembly for $64 .
