Who makes/sells GOOD Potentiometers?

There seems to be dozens available for a couple of bucks... does anyone know of any higher end ones? Not ones that cost an arm and a leg, but around $10-$20 each, that are just that much better in quality.

Being based in the UK, I would normally recommend looking at the big online electronics dealers like RS or Farnell. They do sell to the USA, but the exchange rate would make them expensive for you.

Instead, you might be better to have a look at the US website of Japanese component maker ALPS. They make pots in all quality/price brackets.

Agree generally, as I use Farnell/RS a lot in Australia but the wonders of international mail make it easy enough, and quite cheap, to source pots anywhere in the world.

Other suggested brands include, Vishay, Bourns, Spectrol, Clarostat.
There'll be plenty of places to source these in the US.

Stan Hinsley will prewire a Pot Harness for you, meaning he gets the pots, wires them together, and to an input jack. The only work you'll have to do is solder in the pickup leads and the bridge ground. They're about 60-100$, depending on what options you choose, but they are rated as very high quality, and he is a great man to deal with.

CTS pots are good quality but not outrageously priced. they're easy to get in the US, too.
