I'm sure this makes me lame somehow, but for me it's Justin Chancellor, Tim Commerford, and Christopher Wolstenholme. I enjoy how they use FX for emphasis and mood throughout the songs.

Yeah my favorite players are Justin Chancellor, Tim Commerford, Les Playpool, and Geddy Lee. I know Chancellor uses a lot more effects than the others, but in a tasteful way. Actually, Les plays with effects a lot as well depending on the song.

Not lame at all IMO. These are easily my top 3 in terms of what effects did to their basic tone. Well chosen.

Dan Berglund (Esbjörn Svensson Trio) does inspiring stuff with effects on double bass.

Tim Lefebvre is famous for his OC-2 sound, but I heard that type of usage first with Fima Ephron (Lefebvre is cool though)

Doug Wimbish was a shock to me the first time I heard him. Mono Neon has that same musical approach to effects.
