Why all the concerns about weight?

All we do is 4 hour gigs.Maybe I just don't notice the shoulder and back pain cause my feet hurt so damn bad.:)

LOL a lighter bass would help with your feet, too!

For years I exclusively played my 77 Jazz, which is very heavy, I've never weighed it but I have also never felt another bass that is as heavy, it's at least 12 lbs, probably more. Then I bought a Spector 4 string (the first "Euros" back when Spector was SSD) and it is just light as a feather. I didn't really notice until I played my Jazz at a gig again- the difference was pronounced, both in my right shoulder (oddly enough) and in my feet. Not that I'm selling the Fender, but now it is more of a showcase and recording bass, for long bar gigs I play the Spector.
