Nearly every rock/metal bassist I see uses an SVT live. Whether it's Mike Inez, Jason Newsted, Rex Brown, or Dave Farrell, so many of my favorite bassists play Ampegs.
Why is this? Are they just that good that almost everyone uses them? I've never played one, so I wouldn't know. Am I missing out? Is the SVT the holy grail of bass amps?
I disagree! Many players play some lightweight class D stuff here! And they do enjoy it. Heavy amps are getting harder and harder to sell these days.I realize this is an unpopular view on TB
True! I've owned G-K for many years too (a pair of original 400RBs). A great amp, with its own unique sound!"Personally I think Aguilar DB and GK sound better, but different strokes."
I resemble that remark! LOLMany famous bands use them, so many that would like to be famous do too.
They also seem to be good amps.

I've said too much...
Absolutely. Good for any type of music imo. Easy and effective EQ options = versatility!
I use my svt3pro usa ranging from jazz to fusion, reggae, pop, rock... Everything really. And it always wins in every genre sound-wise to me. This, paired with either a pbass or jazz bass is how I imagine the sound should be.A lot of bassists for other types of music dig them, too, not just rock. But they are the big rock amp, no doubt.
