I can roll my eyes better.
So whenever you buy a bass you go into the store with a scale first to see precisely how much it weighs? And I'm supposed to do that myself in order to answer someones obsessive/compulsive question on the weight of a totally stock bass that I'm selling. Especially when there's a 99.9 % chance that person's not going to buy anyhow. Wait, I'll roll the eyes again...![]()

I agree for the most part, but in a guitar store, I can pick up the bass myself and determine if its too heavy. Can't do that over the internet. And, since there is such a wide variance in many cases between identical models, I don't think its a silly thing to ask. Even if the person asking doesn't buy, at least the information is there for other perspective buyers. I know, in my case, a simple, bathroom-scale estimate is usually good enough to give me an idea if I am interested in the bass or not. I don't need it down to the ounce. Can't speak for others though.
