Why are Sadowsky Basses with Norstrand Pickups always being resold?

I dare say its the economy! To add to the discussion I feel we bassists are always looking for the ONE! I for one am guilty as charged. I wish I could just be happy with that one bass. :)

I don't think there are resold issue due to pickups.
I played several Sadowsky with Nordstrand pickups, and they are great.
Sadowsky with Nordstrand basses are new, and some players already have old Sadosky basses, then if they must sell basses due to some reason like economy, they always release new one, because newer always has clean, and good shape, not sound issue.

Better thread: Why do people scan the TB classifieds for a very short period and come to the false conclusion that everyone or most people are selling X brand of basses or amps? I swear I've seen this type of thread for Sadowsky, Lakland, EBMM, Markbass, Genz, etc. etc. It's a snapshot in time, folks, it doesn't mean much.

I've seen it too, often happens when someone who is looking for one kind of bass/amp goes through all the classified bumping the ones they are interested in.

Have you ever noticed that when you buy a new car - especially one that you might not have really noticed and considered before you went shopping for it - that all of a sudden you see them EVERYWHERE?

It's not that everyone went out and bought the same car that you did at the same time, it's that you're conscious of them.

I suspect it's the same with the Sadowsky basses. For some reason you're focused on them, and you're just noticing the ads. I haven't seen anything like what you're talking about, but man are there a LOT of MIM Fender Precision ads around...

This is true. Then you live to regret it.

I had got hold of an Eric Clapton Signature Martin 00-28 guitar a few years back, the less-expensive one with the East Indian Rosewood back instead of Brazilian. It was just a jewel. Then I had to sell it because things got tight.

I still dream about that guitar.

Like others have posted, I simply think it's the economy. I've seen a lot of high-end basses up for sale over the last 6 months, and it very well could be because Sadowsky/Nordstrand setups are a fairly recent option and that those basses would be player's most recent purchases, that they would be the "first to go" over older basses players are more attached to.

Or perhaps it's just that some folks had to have this latest/greatest option only to realize that it's just another bass. I've seen this happen with lots of new products here long before the economy took a hit.

Been there, done that. One of the reasons why I have not been in a hurry to get newer boutique basses is that I know what I was like in the mid 1990's when I was going from Alembic to Steinberger to Roscoe to Spector to Ken Smith, and frankly I sound just as good on Stingray 5 or Jazz 5 or even a ATK305.

The bottom line is that this is not an anti-Sadowsky or anti-boutique rant. It's just that a bass is a bass, and very often one person's wonder bass is another person's so what?

Finally, I strongly agree about players getting over extended. I've been there and done that too.:hiding:
