Why are Sadowsky Basses with Norstrand Pickups always being resold?

I had one of these from around the time of "the troubles" fall into my hands. Probably had a diff pickguard, this one seems like a parts bin replacement that got hogged out but not fine finished.

It's not a bad bass, but for posterity these pickups are so hot you can throw them into a MIM Fender or Squier + preamp for a whitewashed primo sound.

I think they're wound towards that scooped Sadowsky ethic bc these aren't quite like my N branded Big Singles. There's a scoop to them you wouldn't notice unless you've got N branded pickups on hand to compare.
