IIRC the original Corvettes were always bolt-on and had MEC JJ pickups. THe Dolphins at the time were the top of the line "hand made" neck through instrument which a different electronics package and pickups (MEC twin J). I'd be suprised if the Dolphin (at that time) was a bolt on Bubinga bodied bass with Corvette eelctronics - its possible, but my recollection of the time when the COrvette was introduced was that it was the "budget" Warwick (1995 or 96?) (this of course predates the rock-bass and Warwicks plans for world domination etc).
The corvette was their lowest price bass, but it was nothing like a rock bass. Price at the time was $998.00. I bought it on my g-friends credit card (yes, she's now my wife
The dolphin was a neck through which I had forgotten, but both basses were hand crafted back then I'm pretty sure. Maybe the dolphin was "more" hand crafted.
