Just my opinion, but no- it's more of *this is what most folks call it/what's in a name/I have more important things to get my panties in a bunch over*

So, I guess by this logic if someone asks what nationality you are you should reply with "United States of American"?? I'd hate for them to get confused and think you were Mexican or Canadian.

I knew a guy that went to Mexico for a summer and he said that some people there will make fun of you when you say "I am from America." They will say "Yes I am from America too, what country on you from." and so on. Its a cultural thing.

Don't forget that Central America (which includes countries such as Panama and Guatemala), as well as the Caribbean, are considered part of North America. Not to mention that Greenland is part of it, too (although that belongs to Denmark).
Just doing my part to keep you ahead of the curve.
The idea of two continents: North A and South America is usually taught only in US and Canada, in most of the countries in Latin America is taught that there is only one continent: America, this also taught in many countries around the world, latin people always said: United States to referred to USA, this also true in other parts of the world, they divide America in three areas: Canada, US and Latin America. Same problem happens in Europe, we usually just say '' Europe'' although there are 47 European countries.
Your making something out of nothing. I can understand why your mad. America kind of is the world police because we like to stick or necks in everything, but just because it says Made in America doesnt mean we're trying to take anything, thats just the way it has always been. The U.S. has been dubbed America since its founding. And every other America came after that.
Worldwide, pretty much everyone knows that "American" means "from the United States". Its just a co-opted colloquialism and its understood by residents of other countries in the Americas as well. Its way easier than saying "United Statesians". Who cares? The american's in this thread won't understand the nature of the question or where it comes from due to the odd propensity for propagandic ethnocentricity from that country. Hence the term "Amerrogance"...

Why not just use standard naming conventions? That phrase really only applies to Fenders anyways, and since there are only 3 countries with Fender factories, everybody understands that MIA is for U.S.A. Fenders.
