It's the flux capacitor in the MXR. It's time aligned with the phase field in the amp, creating a hole in the space/time continuum... or something.

I would say the noise gate in the pedal does its job of gating noise, which means the noise comes from the bass or pedalboard, not the amp.
Ground switches only act on the di part and have no effect on the amp input.

The gate is only for the distortion side. It also doesn't happen with my other amp.

I'm thinking its got to be the flux capacitor. You really can't argue with a space time continuum theory.

The problem is the noise, not the MXR blocking the noise. Unless you're like the Doctor, who likes the noise the TARDIS makes even though it's actually wrong. Maybe you need to reverse the polarity...

Seriously, I'd suspect a power supply or RFI type issue with something in your chain. So unplug everything, plug bass straight into amp. Then add pedals back into the chain one at a time until you start getting the noise. There's your culprit.

I'm leaning toward the bass or cable coming from the bass. Your next test would be as follows. Try another amp in the same room. Plug in just the bass first. Then try it with the pedal board and no DI.

Also try another bass and cable with the pedal board and your amp. These switch ups will tell you exactly which component is/has the issue.

Yeah, I had a pedalboard that was humming - for whatever reason, I swapped out the true bypass equipped tuner with a buffered Boss one, and...hum gone.
