I once joined a band and the second practice in, we took a break and the guitar player just walked over, picked up my bass, turned on my amp, and started playing on it. Now, I have no problem letting people play my gear, but I kinda expect a little respect in asking me first. To lead by example, I walked over to his guitar and asked him if I could play it.
His response was, "I don't let anybody else touch my instruments". I walked over, took my bass off of him (a bit forcefully), packed up my stuff and started to leave.
This guy went to the security guy of the practice place (I guess they were friends) and told Mr. Security to stop me from leaving. When Mr. Security blocked my way out, I had to threaten him. I hate that. It got tense for a few seconds, then he got out of my way. I left and never looked back.
Very strange, what reason did he give the security guy to stop you?
