I quit because I got sick of the hours complicated by lazy band members. I don't miss it, it was a paycheck to me. Most were not familiar of GB gigs just bands

Gigs that require setup several hours before the performance. It happens. It isn't a reason for me to quit. It's just a thing about gigs I don't care for.Just curious...
in what kind of gig does one wait hours after soundcheck to start?
Same with my bunch - sound, not lights. Nobody else is making any effort to learn the basic functions of our mixer, including our guitar guy... who actually owns the mixer and keeps it in his basement. I haven't enjoyed a gig since maybe last year with volume wars happening all too often and them little sound gremlins always lurking with nobody else willing to chase them.At 29 pages I didn't read all of this thread. But I'm sure my reasons were discussed already.
Personnel, lazy complainers letting me do the sound and lights without ever lifting a finger to try and contribute to the process. Bye.

Yes, I'll be leaving soon. I go way back with a couple of these guys and I'd rather do it gracefully...
...but they suck.
Same here. In one of the bands I play for the leader is reforming without the guitar player and singers. I guess we'll be an instrumental background events band. Funny thing is when the singers joined they were all "tell us if you have any criticism we won't be offended." The first thing I said "you're pitchy, you have to get control of your voice. It makes the whole band sound bad." Again and again, "tell us if there is anything we need to improve we won't be bothered". I'm saying "you're so pitchy I pulled you out of my monitors, I can't stand it". No improvement, reformation is nigh. Guitar player is too stoned to know what he's doing when muscle memory fails him, it happens a lot.Singer drama

and, a Guitar player that wouldn't practice on his own time only at rehearsal.
Haha, for me i have a very low tolerance for singer b.s. Just hits me wrong.
Then I would suggest you move to Waltham and humble yourself.I absolutely loathe the type of people who would have a guy like me be their bass player.
