This is such a crock. Passion aside, you can't get 12 hours of work done in 8 hours. If you do, you're sacrificing quality somewhere.

OP makes no mention of whether he shows up on time or not. He only mentioned that he worked for 5 hours and then took a short break before the owner berated him. He didn't say he worked for 5 hours and went home. A break means he was going to return to doing work afterwards.

Sounds like a veiled "lazy young punks" statement to me. You owe it to yourself to do better then that.

Until I put the squeeze on him to provide a place for me to park in the structure, he wanted me to get up take my car and leave the structure every 85 minutes and drive around the block and re park again because the first hour and a half is free. He got angry at me because of it but to him it makes complete sense. If you have people coming to work for you you need to provide them a place to park.

One of the worst things in life is having to deal with a douchey boss especially an old guy, and you just want to knee them in the face every time you see them but you can't....

My belief is that people get purer as they get older.

Mine is that there are only two ways to age. You become either bitter or wise.

I went to pick my geetar up. First off, the pickup was put on backwards. When the tech took the pg off to turn it the proper way, the ground switch came loose. The tech had difficulty soldering, and the soldering job was a total mess. After that, there was scratchiness in the volume when I tried it. The geetar was suppose to be ready Wednesday now this is Friday. I remembered my earlier jokingly post to this site and laughed to myself about it. I was calm, didn't denigrate or belittle the tech and I'm going to let him handle this. It suppose to be ready today. I hope so. However, what I certainly got out of this is that I'm going to do my own soldering work from now on. From what I can see from internet searches, it's really not that difficult and I'm positive I can do a much better job than what that tech is doing.

Anyway, the op made me think. My life is good and I'm inspired to learn something new (soldering my own pickups). No sense being a jackass.

Aren't you supposed to mellow out when you get older? I really hope I'm not like the other old people that I see you courtesy of my post title. I work for a guy who is 72 and when he needs something he needs it like he was supposed to go urinate yesterday. I do a great job for him and he always blames it on me and something is always wrong and he needs everything right away. I work for five hours today took a short break and he rushed into the break room telling me that I don't think you understand how important this next project is to get out. And because he's cheap I'm not even a real employee I'm just an independent contractor who he treats as a employee. I'm about to tell him GTFO.

No offense to the old people here and I love you all and you are all bass players but I don't understand why it's so difficult.

Because they don't know how much time they have left. Duh!
