Why do so many 5 & 6 string players NEVER use their low B?

Too little, too much, yep, sure, why are you playing it.
I went to 5 because I was hearing it. Am I worried if I don't play it it on a song..nope.
Maybe I'll hear it in the next one.
I'm writing my lines as I go.

I'm assuming they just like the sound and feel of the bass, more than they really need that b string

I use my b string all the time, but then again, all my music requires it. I like them low notes

The B string isn't necessarily there to play lower notes. At least that's not how I was taught. Having it allows a lot less shifting positions when playing. I use it that way. If I'm playing a 5 string, I will use the B string in some way during a song.
