Why does Rondo keep doing this to me?????

I haven't seen the spalt in person, so I'm not sure if that's an actual top wood or just a film/veneer. Looks cool, whatever it is, though .......

The Brice Z6's haven't been available in natural or with the spalt top for quite a while. I actually thought they might have discontinued them. It's really a very, very good bass, well worth the money. The Z6 is 19mm spacing with a pretty big body, extremely well balanced and it has a comfortable neck. I think it's one of the very best values in a reasonably priced six string right now, certainly runs neck-to-neck with the older Yamaha TRB6' s as far as quality is concerned.

This is a Z6 in natural without the spalt ....

I'm Getting a Red Z6 this month i def plan on changing the pre to an artec SE3P-A 3 band with parametric mids cause i must have mid control. BTW if that fretless has the same bridge that is sold on ebay 6 string bass bridge the spacing is 15mm

What preamp is that diagram of? I didn't think any Rondo basses had stacked controls (or parametric mids).

You have me curious about that:confused:!

Edit: I get it now...I read *all* of your post. Have you used that pre before? How does it sound?

Thanks.

I have never tried this pre but i figured I would try it since artec has a pretty decent rep. Plus its only like 65 bucks to my door so If I dont like it I wont be out of too much.

Where are you ordering yours from? I'm really considering this, since I just ordered a Douglas WEB 846 in blue from Rondo (should arrive June 9). Can't beat $130 inc. shipping! I was looking at an Aguilar OBP-3 with the sweepable mid option, but that would be close to 200 bucks to put a preamp in a $109 bass. The Artec seems more workable for my (low) budget.

Thanks for the inspiration. TB is always good for inspiring GAS, isn't it?:rollno:

they sell them on ebay Artec SE3PA they ship from singapore. I like experimenting with off brand cheaper products. I actually just got some no name 3 band preamp to put in my Rogue LX406 and it sounds pretty good. Hopefully I have the same fortune with the Artec and if not I can always get a bart or aggie. They also sell Concentric Knobs on ebay.

Man, apparently they ship to Australia... Is it worth getting one of these? I've really been thinking about the Ibanez sr706 or Yamaha TRB1006, which are around $1300 or so here. Yet these basses are like $200... what's the catch? Is it the build quality or what?
