For me it is because it is iconic and brilliant in its simplicity. It’s like the Telecaster. Why is the Telecaster still so widely used and loved? It works for pretty much any genre, it’s classic, it has ‘that’ sound. The P-Bass is the same.
It’s part of Americana like Coca-Cola or Levi’s jeans. Sure some people like Pepsi more. Some people love Lee or Wrangler or boutique denim jeans. But Coke and Levi’s will always be icons and people will always buy and swear by them.

The P-bass, like other bass models, is loved by a lot of musicians playing different styles, not necessarily having an account here on TB.
