Why every bass player needs a good woman!!!

I have been married for 25 years and my wife has been very supportive of my music as well. Several years ago she bought me a Sennheiser Wireless for my birthday. Last year, just before Valentines Day she bought me a new MIA Fender Jazz that I had been looking at. In my current band, I am going to be playing acoustic guitar on a couple of songs, our lead singer is also a bass player so he will play bass. When I told my wife that I was also going to play acoustic she bought me an Ovation Acoustic Pro Balladeer. It should arrive by mid week.

Congrats-you're a lucky man!
I have kind of the same story in reverse- due to some excessive medical bills, I've had to sell a few of my basses. I'm down to the two I play all the time, and the first bass I've owned. I told my wife the other day that I thought I'd have to sell another- she told me she didn't want me to(!)- that we'd figure out a way to get by. We've been together 22 years, and I always feel that she's in my corner, and knows what really matters. She's also been a great stepmom to my 3 kids.

This is just as touching as the OP. Take care of her (and the wife also, LOL)

We should make a club- TBers with Awesome Wives (or Husbands/Partners). My wife surprised me with an Ibanez AEB5E for Christmas, which I was planning to buy sometime this Summer. Soo good!

Congrats! Make sure she feels the love in return!

Congratulations to you, Vincent P! Ibanez makes some beautiful instruments, imho.

Great idea to the bolded!!!

I'm truly blessed by my husband - he's my biggest fan/constructive critic/supporter and NEVER questions my purchases or wishlist. His attitude is, "If you want/need it, go get it. I'd get it for ya, but since I don't have a clue, you'll have to pick it out yourself, but I'll NEVER stand in the way." We're coming up on 7 years; hopefully he'll still be like that after 70. :hyper:

Great story - you have a good woman there.

I'm lucky to have one as well.
About 9 years ago we were at GC so I could pick up some strings, and I noticed an SWR Baby Blue II in the bass room. I grabbed a bass off the wall & gave it a quick test drive, and was very impressed with the amp. Apparently my wife was impressed too - when I got home from work the next day, it was waiting for me in the living room.
:)
About 5 years ago I was gassing hard for a Jetglo Ric 4003. After a few phone calls to local dealers, I located one for sale. I took my wife out for lunch the next day & asked if she wouldn't mind if we went to check it out after had eaten. As I was sitting in the store playing the bass, she asked if I liked it - I told her I loved it. She went & talked with the store owner for a few minutes, came back & said "O.K., lets go". As I set the bass down & grabbed my jacket, she said "Don't forget your new bass, it's all paid for".
:bassist:
Good woman - good wife! I don't know what I'd do without her...

In 28 years of marriage my wife has given me two guitar straps, and two foot pedals. Yes you have a very good wife. Keep her!!!!

My wife is still wonderful and lovely after 22 years.
Treasure your woman and that bass.......but as a Habs fan I gotta say that hockey game was nothing short of brutal ;-)

congrats
