Ha! Years ago I did a gig at the Albert Hall, London. It was a big charity gig and stacked with stars. During the rehearsal I spotted Sting with Elton John, Ian McKellan, Alf and a few other gods. I thought they were deep in conversation and wouldn't notice me take a picture from a fair distance away. I set up and, just as I was about to take the picture, Sting repositioned himself and stared straight into my lens. I took the shot but was so surprised that the shot was out of focus(gutted)!
Love him or hate him, he's more than a Rock Star, he's a one man media machine standing well over six feet with shock blond hair and seriously buff body... then he starts singing!! His performance was the highlight of the evening. We all noticed that he(and Elton) was the only one that didn't have problems with the PA system(many thought that wasn't an accident). The audience were like putty in his hands because part of his genius is optimising every situation to his advantage. Can't be easy being totally grounded when everybody in your bubble worships you. I've seen lesser people behave much worse.
