yeah, multiplying or dividing both sides of an equation by zero is verboten for that very reason. sure, 4*0 = 3*0 = 0, but that doesn't mean that 4=3.
Oh man! These are really funny! I have seen some of them before, but there are quite a few that made me laugh. The sideways 5 instead on infinity was awesome.
a+b=c
(4a-3a)+(4b-3b) = (4c-3c)
4a-3a+4b-3b = 4c-3c
4a+4b-4c = 3a+3b-3c
4(a+b-c) = 3(a+b-c)
4=3
The reason this is invalid is that the term a+b-c conceals the fact that a+b=c, therefore a+b-c = 0. Therefore, to get 4 to equal 3 according to this equation, the final step is to divide both sides by zero.

Those years made it easier to realize that the 91 volts LEFT after we turned on power to the
lights Friday night at an outdoor gig(electrician-provided temp-power box on the end of a
200~300' feed!) wasn't going to power everything.

I wish I still had my Math test from Grade 11. I wrote it all in Roman Numerals. My teacher wasn't too impressed.
Relax.
By the 3rd year you'll look at the above and instantly KNOW what is not a legal move
when tossing numbers and letters around.
If you stick with it and catch a break or two, GAS is easier to deal with too.
