My favorite is the last-resort jab at the person's spelling or grammar. That's usually saved for when one has run out of real arguments.

Yes there is. I used it as an adjective for "resort," and the adjective came before the noun.

Seems like people are always ready to jump on someone and attack them on here. No matter what the topic, someone always ends up making some kind of dig at someone else.

I am all for people having different opinions, the world would be boring if everyone got along... it's just that little bit of nastiness you can get a taste of from some replies... why? What good does that do? What could be a pleasant, worthwhile debate often ends up just an argument, with lots of silly bickering.

I don't think it's that people are jumpy. It's that people are normal, but for some reason have very thin skin on this forum, and every little thing offends them.

Seriously, I've been here for over 6 years, and the type of bickering and attempts at character assasination you guys are referring to seem to go in cycles.

Most of the time those who bear ill-cyber will towards another get distracted by real life and just fade away.

Bah, humbug. As a quasi-accomplished writer with an almost detectable reputation, I heartily disagree. (Keep in mind I repeatedly flunked English in school.)
