Why is Fiesta Red so rare?

Sorry to revive this thread, it's just that I'm doing my research for my own refin.
While there is alot of great info and examples here, no one's said that fiesta red has been a rarer color in the past because it was one of the original custom colors.
Myself, I'm looking for examples of the faded/bright orangey fiesta red that comes up on some if the Pino's. Amazing when you look into it just how many different red/pinky/orange shades it fades to depending how the bass has lived.

A friend and I did a rebuild of a 62' P-Bass body a couple of years ago. After trying three times to get to the "Salmon Pink" that these old finishes get to after 40 yrs. I said stop the bleeding. All reranch products. I opted to go with She'll Pink with a matching headstock..it turned out great especially with the Audere 4band Pre we installed. I have a drummer buddy who always says "bring the Pink bass, it's the best sounding bass I've ever heard." And he is a tech and sound guy.
