I've watched Nathan East, Janek Gwizdala, Victor Wooten, Steve Harris, et al. play. What I think it comes down to is enjoying yourself.
As for John Entwistle, I think that statue "routine" was his schtick. In a world of rock and rollers smashing their guitars, running around like madmen, etc. he stood out because he stood still.
Couldn't agree more. Entwistle played some very intricate lines. I move around TONS on stage. But when it comes to performing lines like Entwistle's? I tend to stand more still. Ha! His stuff is almost impossibly difficult.
