Why no Rumble 500 1x15 combo?

Oh, there's no doubt that sane people can easily run a 350w head into a cab that takes less and still come out with their cab intact. But in a combo where there will be a ton of people buying it who are not sane, it's best to limit the wattage to something the cab can take safely before fartout.

I'm not trying be snarky but you know you can turn it down from "10", right? Jimmy is correct but it'll only be pushing 350 if you pin the volume.

Absolutely no snark taken. It's just it would be my first amp, so I don't want to be 'not sane', as JimmyM uncharitably puts it, about matching the head and the cab. (Though I suppose it's nicer than saying 'stupid'.) Common sense seems to be the buzzword.

If I were to go the head + cab route, then the TC Electronic 550 becomes tempting - but it's a different beast. Choices, choices. And I suspect 200 watts might be enough anyway.

At least I'm not in a rush. I'll probably just wait to see what this year's NAMM brings.
