mdf heavy, yes. good info. Thank you for that detail. I may build something out of plywood, to stay in the leaves and dung price range. I had considered finding a blown one and putting a better driver in it.

Finding an old 1x15 cab and sticking a Kappalite 3015 in it is one of the most cost-effective solutions for bass rigs.
Hard to go wrong with that approach, usually around 250 bucks by the time you're done, and a cab that's as loud as any cheap 4x10 and lighter.
Good candidates:
SWR Son of Bertha
Various Peavey cabs (look for the 3ish cf ones)
The Seismic Audio 1x15 looks like a good fit
Pretty much any 1x15s around 3 cubic feet will be a decent match.

The C2515 is a good speaker but does not perform as well in as big a range of boxes as the 3015. Not quite as tolerant of small boxes or varied tunings.

yeah but the power handling compared to Avatars is no contest...the avatars can take so much wattage and come out sooo clean. I'm pumping 480w (rms) into a 2x10's cab from a power amp with no problems. GK's are good cabs but Avatar is tough to beat.
Electrical power ratings are 1) Not to be trusted as bible. 2) Tell very little of the cabs abilities. If you just play numbers great, but they are just numbers and can only be used loosely as a guide.
