On four,five other basses before this one.
If you have a bass with a 3+3 or 4+4 headstock,you have to make sure you get the appropriate ones for the side.
For me it would be 3 right,3 left.

If you're able to find a new or used set of the domestics but in the wrong configuration (left vs right), not to worry. They're easily reversed.

If they don't fit well to 11/16" pegholes, I'll have to look for other tuners, as I'm in the market for some. But the lightness is appealing.

Are they going sharp or flat? Most of the issues I see are due to questionable string installs or marginal set-ups.

A little or a lot? I'd expect the former just due to expansion under the warmth of the hands. So you're constantly having to tune upwards and never down?

That's right. Always up (flat string). The G string holds tune but is very tough to turn. At a very minimum I think this one need to be replaced. I've followed the video you posted but it seems to be getting worse. The others run smoothly but seem are not real accurate feeling.

*I doubt all your machine head posts are spinning backwards and flattening the string.

*Is the G hard to turn when unloaded (string removed)? If not, is it inordinately difficult to turn with the string in place?

*Have you set your witness points?

*Have you re-eval'd your nut slots? Any chance they're binding?

*Are the saddle height screws slipping and allowing the saddle to drop?

Yes G tuner is binding even if I take it off the bass.
Bridge is holding.
It's not all the tuners that are slipping.
G- hold but hard to turn
D- holds turns smooth
A- holds turns smooth
E- slips out of tune.

I have checked the nut. Looks good. Strings look good 3 wraps per peg.
I'm thinking the G is bad and E might just be slipping. Might see if I can get a replacement for the G.

*Did you dis-assemble / repair / lube the G machine head or is that not possible with given design?

*Is the E string slipping from around the post secondary to poor install?

mongo2, do you have any experience with the black GB350 tuners? Are they indeed black in person?

Since I last visited this thread 9 years ago I've used both black and black chrome GB350 tuners. I imagine it might be too late but what did you want to know?
