Widespread Panic

I saw them a few times in the late 80's. Their shows were awesome parties. Houser sitting on the stage behind a head of shaggy hair wailing. RIP. Schools is a monster on bass.

Good times. Space Wrangler is the place to start. I haven't paid much attention these days but I'm glad they're still kickin.

saw them when i was 14 for the first time at roseland ballroom in 1998....had been geeking out to my older brothers hit for a year or so as a kid and he took me to the show.....i was 14 so didnt care about alcohol or distractions at that time, waited to be riding the rail front and scenter.....changed my life....doing two nights this weekend....cant wait!

I was gonna mention Houser earlier in a obscure guitarists thread. Great musicians epic performances and yes Schools is a monster! I think it says a lot that folks are still just finding these guys to, they've probably been rocking for 40+ years and still can turn heads.

Yes, definitely the one band that hooked me early on and never let loose. I still miss Mikey, but Jimmy Herring is a fantastic player and has settled in nicely. Have always said, as long as JB is singing and Schools is thumping then I will be there. FANTASTIC bunch of guys too...

First post so I'm sure I will mess this up, but who cares:

Nowhere near the best D&B, but it's really tough to go wrong with that rhythm section. Check out a live Stop Go for some serious bass work. Cheers people...:bassist:
