Wife asking- Headphone Recommendation?

This question comes up fairly often on TB and the same handful of headphones always comes up as the most recommended.

These seven phones are all priced within the sweet spot, where they're high enough quality to sound good, but not to the point of diminishing returns. I've listed them from low to high.

All of these phones are closed design and are voiced to be sonically accurate, meaning they don't artificially color your bass tone.

BEST VALUE HEADPHONES

AKG K240 ($80)

Sennheiser HD280 ($100)

Shure SRH440A ($100)

Sony MDR 7506 ($100)

Audio Technica ATH M40X ($120)

Beyerdynamic DT 770 ($160)

Audio Technica ATH M50X ($170)

My personal recommendation is for the HD280s. They're what I practice and record with and I've been using them for over 25 years, about 10 hours per week.

But I'd be satisfied with any of them.
