got it sorted! it defo isnt coil tapped. green+white go to pot casing. black and red go onto middle prong. all on the same pot. well thats disappointing![]()
well i dunno, its working anyway. how muchmore faffing around will it require to wire it in series?
i should actually try series though, because im not happy with the tone. i dont have a yellow wire. they are black, red, white and green. the white and green came joined together. the red was loose, and the black is stupidly short.
maybe all parts should up their game and realise not everyone who buys a pickup from them is a trained electronic engineer.
by hot you mean live, yes? then green+ white to where?
I just configured my Stingray copy on a V V T configuration:

I followed the diagram Schematics from here:

Works just fine.
Hi,
My MM Pickups have 5 wires, 1 red, 1 green, 1 white, 1 black and 1 bare (braided) wire.
The Black and the red goes to the middle lugs of the volume pots, while the bare, white and green (i believe yours is should be the yellow wire) goes to the top/back of the volume pot where the black wire is connected.
BTW, if you are seeing only 4 leads, this means your pick-ups is meant to be used with an onboard pre-amp and configuration would be Volume-Treble-Bass.
HTH.
Gary
Gary,
Thanks, that helps a lot. My pup only had four leads, but the black lead was shielded, so I assume that is the "bare" wire.
I'll get everything squared away as you describe, then check all my other connections. Maybe that will fix everything.
I'll post the results, just in case you are interested.
