Double Bass Will it help?

I have developed wrist problems due to playing electric bass (nothing wrong with form, according to my instructor, so that isn't it), and rather than quit entirely, I'm considering switching to EUB. The question is, will that alleviate wrist issues?

Not to be Mr. Obvious, but you could try holding your electric bass in a vertical or near-vertical position and see if it helps before you do anything like go buy a new EUB or other kind of bass. If I hold my electric bass very horizontally, it hurts my wrist. But if I bring the headstock up, that relieves the awkward angle that my wrist was in at the horizontal position. Give it a try for a few days.

It might just because you're wrist will be in a different position. Sometimes minor tweaks in your position can help. I was having problems and changing where I put my arm while using my mouse at work helped solve the problem.

That said. Switch to any kind of upright. The more I play upright the more electric bass has that awful overly modern sound and less soul.
