You must admit, there are a lot of folks in here just waiting to stir up trouble. I believe WB was just looking to get the air cleared up front. No harm, no foul.
Thanks for the kind words about my bass! You should see it in person. The camera flash always accentuates the tiger striping in the maple top too much. Much smoother and sexier in real life, if that's possible.Grey Goose said:Aside from it being my favorite R Bass, it is the most sexiest bass I have ever layed my eyes on... and I have seen thousands of basses. Please contact me if you ever decide to sell it arock, I wanted to buy it last time it was for sale on TB but didn't have the cash then!![]()
yep, that's heavenly.arock said:Here you go - my 6-string R Bass. 33" scale, effortless to play.

Halftooth said:I'm a big Rbass fan, and I like the design direction that Ray is moving towards. I think getting away from the "Fodera" look is really going to increase the demand for his basses. My only gripe with him is that at times, he's hard to reach, and if there's a problem, you have to ship to PR, not that it's a deal breaker, but it could be for some people.
sha975 said:In my experience Ray has always returned my emails, calls, etc... normally within a few minutes if I call him. As far as him being located in PR, to me he's no further than it would take you to send your bass to any other luthier. I just purchased that 6 string from him. He mailed it on Monday via Post Office priority mail and I got Wenesday only 2 days and I live in GA. To me Ray is awesome when it comes to customer service but maybe its because I'm his biggest fan![]()
Halftooth said:Ray has improved as far as returning emails go. I've emailed him recently and have had a response from him no later than a few days after the initial email. Trust me, he was brutal about returning emails a few years back, and he was vitually impossible to contact untill recently.
lamarjones said:Anyways, I actually had two slots with Ray, this was one of them (I had two slots, but only intended to keep one of them), and after checking it out, dig it but the maple ain't me, and a local fellow to him who is a pro has been dying for it, so we just made things happen to the joy of both of us. However, these are pretty much the new style, so figured I would post. I am going for the same thing, except right now I am trying to find the sickest walnut out there w/o sapwood and going with mac ebony on the board. The only issue is that I would LOVE to have that baby, but fear of me turning it over eventually is getting in my way (most likely the bass I keep won't be one of my working basses, that is better left to my other R and F)
