WILL THE REAL RBASS FANS PLEASE STAND UP?

I think it's a mistake to make the upper bout not go to the 12th fret. I've had (and currently have) basses where the upper horn is too short and it's a real issue.

A Real issue? What does that mean? Can you affirm Rbasses will get the very same "real issue problems" that you have with your another brand & designed basses?

On a strap it creates a longer reach to the first few frets....fact. It's just the way that it works. Even if you bring the bridge back towards the end of the body it's a longer reach. Ergononmically it's not correct for your body. If you have your bass strapped further down your body than it can be easier but then it makes the higher frets more difficult to reach. If you never go up high than it's fine, otherwise it isn't the answer. Look at a Fender, Leo got it right the first time.

I absolutely agree 100% with emjazz about the benefits of the upper horn reaching the 12th fret. Even on a short scale bass, having a closer reach to the first frets makes a HUGE difference in balance and playability.

Edit: Maybe not, just had a couple of talks with this guy (deon), he does have some of my fave R basses. Bright move to get a 5 made just like that flame 6!
