Will this cab work for practice with full band?

Ampeg PB-110H Bass Cabinet 1x10
porta bass model 200 watt rms 4 ohm cab.
Looking to use it with full band for practice so i dont have to lug my 810 cab all over. For now, all i have to power it is SVT 7 Pro.
All i really need to do is hear myself with it.
Found a good deal on this cab and can probably bring it home for less than 150 bucks. Guy said he used for two jazz gigs. He was using a Markbass 200 and something watt head.

Anybody have one of these or ever use one? I have never seen one before and it has neo mag speaker and i believe usa made.

Just looking for a cheap cab to get me by for a short time.
I could kick myself for selling my BA210 this past summer and my BA110 just isn't going to cut it at 50 watts. Hoping to get a 410 or 212 cab by spring.

What is your thoughts on this cab? Thanks

I'm afraid you will be disappointed with the original speaker, especially at band volumes.

I blew the original 12" Neo in my 112 porta bass cab in short order w/ a GK1001rbII. Replaced the speaker w/ a Black Widow, paired w/ an Ampeg pf800. This recovered little monster now punches above it's weight and can hold it's own on small to medium stages.

I dont think so, the add on craigslist didnt mention it, but i will ask the guy.

You did a fine job on that modded cab. Looks amazing.

Without really good judgement and realistic volume expectations, I wouldn’t expect that speaker to last very long with that amp.

Right there is your answer. This 110 will not be much different from your other 110. Neither will come close to an 810.

Not to rag on Ampeg products, but I think you'll be in for disappointment with that cab (or most any 110) and your expectation. Just for rehearsals could you get an Ampeg SCR DI pedal (or a Tech 21 VT Bass V2) and use your BA 110 as a personal monitor while the PA does the heavy lifting? You'd get a nice pedal you could use for other things and the cost (used) would be close to the same.

Edit: A Certain "Two 10" cabinet has been sufficient for band practice with 2 guitarists a kbp, and drummer who hit hard, but those cabs are not common nor easy to come by. I've also used it at a gig when a friend's head died and I didn't want to use mine with his cab. Was adequate. Sounded good.

I think, going from an 810 to a 110, you’ll have to duck tape the 110 to the side of your head to make it work.

Ok, some hyperbole there for sure, but I am thinking for band for which an 810 is reasonable you are going to have trouble hearing the 110, and no else in your band will hear it at all.

This cab would be OK for the duo I had with an acoustic guitarist, but wouldn't work in any band I've been in.

I mean, it depends. I used a Bassman 100w 1x10 combo for rehearsals for years with a 5-piece band, but I did crank it, and if we were rehearsing in a space any bigger than a tin can, I would line out to the PA to get more support (which is how I would typically do performance in small to medium rooms). If this is the kind of band where you can't tell the guitar and drums to turn down for the sake of everybody's continued ability to hear, then it ain't gonna work.

But if you practiced with the band using only a headphone amp to hear yourself, your drummer wouldn't be able to hear you. I think you'd want to make at least enough sound so that the two of you could be in sync, right?

I wish you still had that BA210, too. I'm rather a fan of 2x10 cabs myself. If you can grab a simple 2x10 or maybe a 1x15 - nothing in the "premium" realm - that might get you through practices without much fuss.

If your band has any PA gear, could you use any of that to put out some of your sound?

How do you like the Legacy with that cab? IME GK and Mesa gear pair nicely and my MB heads work well with the SW cabs...haven't had a chance to hear the Legacy heads yet.
