Double Bass Will this help to stop Dominants breaking?

Been messing with them a bit today..
what I like - less spiro pizz grit in the usual spots - prefer the arco sound over spiro - Pizz not sure if there is more fundamental, perhaps its just due to less midrange, not necessarily better, just different. Seem pretty even, the D has a bit of a mid thing going on from the octave up, that might dissipate with time. What i like is that they dont annoy me in the high registers. Purple silks! (favourite colour)

What I don't like - they might break.. they seem a little bit harder to start under the bow compared to the (3885 3/4) weichs but with time on them ill probably adjust. The feel isn't as supple as the weich, they are harder work and im used to the sustain of the spiros.. but again with time maybe ill get used to it. With each tuning as they settle theres less and less silk available on the G string.. but i think il be good… The E string scares me whenever i'm tuning it up, i'm just imagining it breaking and putting me in hospital...

I don't have any shows for a few weeks so i’ll live with them up until a week prior and make a call if they stay on or not, but overall i prefer the sound over the spiros, particularly arco. I think the deciding factor will come down to feel under the left hand.

.. weighed up the pros and cons and i took them off after a day. Loved the sound but the left hand feel wasn't vibing with me. Cheap set available if anyone is interested.. carefully installed and removed.. will place on classifieds..
