Will TV messup p'ups?

I was playing today and I was wanting to play with some Rush so I put my cd in my ps2 and its on top of my tv so i had my bass in front of the tv and there was a really loud buzzing. I thought maybe it was my amp until i realized i was in front of the tv. Will this mess up my p'ups over time? Or is it just some kind of electro-wave type thing being recieved by the p'up?

If you rotate while playing, even standing in front of the TV, you'll find a position that doesn't hum. Has to do with the way EM fields interact with one another. When recording while standing next to my computer, rotating so my bass is about 45 degrees from the screen kills the noise.

This is also the reason that in some hifi tube amps, the power or speaker transformers are cocked at an angle--to eliminate interference between the two.
