Will Warwick build a 7 string?

I know they have an extensive custom shop and they build 6 strings with 20mm string spacing so I was wondering If I asked them to build a 7 would they do it. 7 string Streamer bolt-on with a quilted maple top, wenge/ovangkol neck and BRUSHED gold hardware, that would be cool.

Will Sadowsky do a 6?
Will Bee make a headless?

just thinking out loud:D

warwick used to offer 7 strings as a custom shop option about 12 years ago. i remember seeing them in some warwick literature from a namm show in jan '94. at the time they were us$3k more than a standard -6- string. that's one expensive extra string, i'll tell you what.

I'm sure if the price is right, ANYONE will do a custom job.

There's someone on TB who has a custom 7-string fender, and i've been trying to find it for ages! Anyone know?

I have found that most bass companies won't build an extended range bass beyong the number of strings offered in stock peices. Conklin is a sure-fire maker for 7s, and Roscoe makes a nice one, too. That said, cough up enough dough and you may be able to convince Warwick to build a 7, although Roger Sadowsky definately won't make a bass with over 5 strings on it.

As others have said so far, their custom shop does a lot of things, but they are quite expensive. So, just as an answer to your theoretical question, yes, they'd make you one; it's possible they've even made some. Unless you find one of these made for music-shops or used - some larger music-shops order some special ones every now and then (the majority are doubled 8, 10 and 12s, f/fless; others are different woods or p-ups), I'd rather ask a smaller, but highly regarded luthier. There are so many talented luthiers out there.
