Will you miss the NBA?

NBA basketball has always taken a back seat to NCAA basketball in my book, so I'll be fine. Besides, now I'll have more time to practice!

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

Better than the Bengals and the Reds :atoz:

(I'm originally from Cincinnati)

A recent issue of ESPN Mag rated pro sports teams (all major sports) for overall fan appeal. Green Bay = #1 of 122, Bengals = #122 of 122.

I will, but to the op: you don't appear to have had any interest before, so why would you now? Also, clearly all the best players get their degree after four years... uh... yeah...

You're right - I never cared about the NBA, never followed it, don't plan to. Never said that I had any interest in it. And judging by the sentiments expressed on this forum, there are a whole lot of people who don't care about it much, either.

IMO kids who enter college should not be drafted by the NBA until they either flunk out or complete their junior year - and it should be in the NBA rule book.

I'm not sure how far back it was, but when pro football players where first forming a union, some player was being interviewed for the news and his "logic" for pro ball players needing a union was "I need to make 2 million a year because my career may only last 3 or 4 years."

That's when I decided pro sports was past the point of relevance in American society, but I'm old enough to remember that guys like Ted Williams had off season jobs so YMMV.

So no, I won't miss the NBA.

Who needs the NBA, when we've got the WNBA? :smug:
But, in all seriousness I would not miss the NBA, we have College basketball and truthfully college basketball just has that feel that those players are playing for the love of the game. Especially the lower tier Div. 1 teams, for me if I see someone doing something they love than I can get more entertainment out of it.

I will miss it only because we just got our d*** team and they should be even better next year! They are the only pro sports team we simple Okies have ever had and KD is the anti-Lebron (KD has tact and class).
As for the WNBA comment... I live less than a mile away from the BOK center (where the Tulsa Shock! play), have $15 of disposable income (for a ticket), love basketball, but will not waste an evening watching them lose another game.

THUNDER up!

I doubt the public is going to miss the NBA (or NFL) should a lock out occur. Why? Well, many of us struggle to put food on the table. Many of us are unemployed. Many of us are just getting by, and yet... these guys are millionaries acting like a bunch of spoiled ass rotten babies. No one can be sympathetic to them these days.

Huge +1 to this.
