Not necessarily. My Teisco SS4L had 4 gold foils had an on/off rocker switch for each pickup, a rythym/lead rocker for each sets of 2, and an overall tone and volume wheel. What are your plans for the headstock? Could you plug the holes you've already got and shape it like the classic Dano?
