Looks like a good group. Pete Hilton's a really talented and humble guy. Would love to meet him sometime and see his work in person.

Hi,
Pete and I had a nice long chat at the hang last night. This is the second time I've met the man and he really is a humble, affable, polite guy who was so gracious to give a nobody like me so much of his time.
We talked about his move from New York to Los Angeles, his gigging life, and his building philosophy. I found it interesting that he got into building because he pretty much hated every instrument he played. We had a nice hang.

I look forward to the Namm thread almost as much as the BassCliff gig threads. This is a good time of year, well....to stay out of the cold and enjoy the threads. How was that paid practice anyhow???

Most of the time we play at the Ranch the owner pays the band to rehearse with him. He sings a few songs then we practice our tunes for a couple hours. Plus we get supper. We were rehearsing our new Carrie material for the upcoming shows.
To keep this on topic, the Ranch is a popular hang out for industry folks during NAMM weekend. I invited Steve and Tony and the rest of the Bass Hang to come check out this marvelous performance venue and this old country bass player. I'm pretty sure @wintremute will stop by to heckle me. We'll see if any other famous people show up.

If you're taking requests how about a close-up of that purple one with the blade P and double blade bridge pickups?
After he was kind enough to post pics at my request, I checked out their website. All the NAMM basses are there. And all of them are ridiculously good looking instruments.
Oh nice! I found out about Pete's work through a guitar player that had one of his guitars. Seems like a swell guy, glad you got to chat with him.
@wintremute thanks so much for all the hard work in sharing all these beautiful basses. I too, have been looking forward to this year's NAMM post.
I’ve had roughly 35-45 high end basses from the best builders you can find such as MTD, Benavente, Warrior, Roscoe, STR, Custom Bacchus, Ristola, Lakland and more and nothing has the total package his basses have. I have a friend who is professional musician and owns $12-14,000 custom Foderas and he said “these Devon’s are equal and beat his Foderas at every level”. Sold him 2 of mine and ordered me 2 Custom Devon’s being built right now. These are crazy good basses.
